Use <em>Migrating from Legacy PayPal to PayPal Checkout<\/em> instead; its wizard registers your webhook and syncs your products for you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PayPal Checkout is the PayPal payment method added in MemberMouse 3.1.2. It uses PayPal&#8217;s REST APIs, takes one-time payments and subscriptions, and returns buyers to your confirmation page automatically. It replaces the original <strong>PayPal<\/strong> method (Website Payments Standard), which PayPal retires in January 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Before you start<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A PayPal <strong>Business<\/strong> account, signed in at developer.paypal.com.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your site on its live domain over <strong>https<\/strong>. PayPal will not send webhooks to an <code>http:\/\/<\/code> address.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MemberMouse 3.1.2 or later.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1: Install or update MemberMouse<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gehe zu <strong>Plugins &gt; Add Plugin &gt; Upload Plugin<\/strong>, choose <code>membermouse.zip<\/code>, click <strong>Jetzt installieren<\/strong>dann <strong>Plugin aktivieren<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2: Turn on PayPal Checkout<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gehe zu <strong>MemberMouse &gt; Payment Settings &gt; Payment Methods<\/strong>. MemberMouse only uses these eight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"5\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Klicken Sie auf <strong>Speichern Sie<\/strong>. PayPal shows <strong>Webhook added successfully<\/strong> and lists the webhook with its <strong>Webhook ID<\/strong>. Copy the ID.<br><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/wpgcbucket\/wp\/2026\/10\/1581521a-10-paypal-add-webhook-save.png\" alt=\"Speichern Sie\" style=\"width:377px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/wpgcbucket\/wp\/2026\/10\/00403982-11-paypal-webhook-saved-with-id.png\" alt=\"Webhook ID\" style=\"aspect-ratio:5.197215777262181;width:597px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 5: Enter your details in MemberMouse and save<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Back in MemberMouse, paste the <strong>Kunden-ID<\/strong>, <strong>Secret<\/strong> und <strong>Webhook ID<\/strong> (or <strong>Sandbox Client ID<\/strong>, <strong>Sandbox Secret<\/strong> und <strong>Sandbox Webhook ID<\/strong> in test mode), then click <strong>Zahlungsarten speichern<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/wpgcbucket\/wp\/2026\/10\/bdfbcad7-12-paypal-checkout-sandbox-filled.png\" alt=\"Settings filled in\" style=\"width:364px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You should see <strong>Payment method settings saved successfully.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Recurring products<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is nothing to do here. Subscriptions through PayPal Checkout use a PayPal billing plan for each recurring product. MemberMouse creates the plan when you save a recurring product, and at checkout if a product does not have one yet. If you change a recurring product&#8217;s price or billing period, MemberMouse creates a new plan for new subscribers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 6: Make a test purchase<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open a purchase link or your checkout page while logged out.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fill in the form and click <strong>Checkout using PayPal<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MemberMouse shows a short page with PayPal&#8217;s buttons: <strong>PayPal<\/strong>, <strong>PayPal Credit<\/strong> und <strong>Debit or Credit Card<\/strong> (<strong>Abonnieren<\/strong> versions for recurring products). Click one and complete the payment in the PayPal window.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/wpgcbucket\/wp\/2026\/10\/e578316e-buyer-01-handoff-page-smart-buttons.png\" alt=\"Handoff page\" style=\"width:349px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The buyer returns to your confirmation page automatically.<br><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/wpgcbucket\/wp\/2026\/10\/7735b653-buyer-02-returned-to-thank-you-page-e1791828528560.png\" alt=\"Confirmation page\" style=\"width:317px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"5\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Unter <strong>MemberMouse &gt; Manage Members<\/strong>, the new member is <strong>Aktiv<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the PayPal Developer Dashboard, <strong>Event Logs &gt; Webhook Events<\/strong> (choose your app) lists the <strong>Billing subscription activated<\/strong> und <strong>Payment sale completed<\/strong> events for the purchase.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With only PayPal Checkout active, the checkout shows a single PayPal button:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/wpgcbucket\/wp\/2026\/10\/0588064a-13-checkout-single-paypal-button.png\" alt=\"Checkout with one PayPal button\" style=\"width:338px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Going live<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Untick <strong>Enable Test Mode (Sandbox)<\/strong>, enter your <strong>Live<\/strong> Client ID, Secret and Webhook ID (a Live app has its own webhook, which you add the same way with the Sandbox\/Live switch on <strong>Live<\/strong>), and save.
