The developer interface changes regularly, and each account may have verification requirements that may not be covered in this article.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&nbsp;Creating a LinkedIn App<br><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first step to enabling the LinkedIn login extension on your site is to create a LinkedIn App. To create your app, first log in to LinkedIn and follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Access the developers page of LinkedIn: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/developers\/apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/developers\/apps<\/a>. Once you are logged in on this page, you will see a button to create an app, or choose one you have already made.<br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LinkedIn will prompt you for app details that are publically available, such as the app name, business name, logo, etc. Complete all mandatory fields and click the Create App button.<br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>While in the Products tab, choose the &#8220;Sign In with LinkedIn using OpenID Connect&#8221; product.<br><br><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"136\" class=\"wp-image-18862\" style=\"width: 650px;\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/wpgcbucket\/wp\/2023\/08\/1ca89933-l1.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/wpgcbucket\/wp\/2023\/08\/1ca89933-l1.png 751w, https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/wpgcbucket\/wp\/2023\/08\/1ca89933-l1-300x63.png 300w, https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/wpgcbucket\/wp\/2023\/08\/1ca89933-l1-50x10.png 50w, https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/wpgcbucket\/wp\/2023\/08\/1ca89933-l1-18x4.png 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><br><br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the product successfully gets provisioned to your application, you can progress to the Settings tab and complete any required verification there.<br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the Settings tab and the Products tab are completed, click the Auth tab to add the Authorized Redirects URL. You will need to enter those in your MemberMouse configuration for LinkedIn.<br><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Configuring the LinkedIn Login Extension<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To enable the LinkedIn login extension, follow the steps below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the MemberMouse menu, click on&nbsp;<em>General Settings<\/em>.<br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Next, click on the&nbsp;<em>Extensions<\/em>&nbsp;tab and from the following page, click on the LinkedIn logo.<br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will need to provide some information from your LinkedIn app, and make a couple of selections:<br><br><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9988\" style=\"width: 400px;\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/wpgcbucket\/wp\/2023\/09\/168c654b-et6zkxnshwl1rnn0yihxmsvvv0sbr9hkxq.jpeg\" alt=\"\"><br><br><br><strong>Client ID<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; From your LinkedIn app Client ID field.<br><strong><br>Client Secret<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; From your LinkedIn app Client Secret field.<br><strong><br>Allow Signups?<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; If you want to allow new customers to sign up using their LinkedIn login credentials, then click this box. Otherwise, members will only be able to login using their LinkedIn credentials, but not sign up for a new membership.<br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<em>Save Configuration&nbsp;<\/em>in MemberMouse to save your LinkedIn extension settings<em>.<\/em><br><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adding LinkedIn Signup And Login To Your Site<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you have configured your site to accept LinkedIn login, you need to add the following SmartTags\u2122 to allow for signup and login.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Signup Button SmartTag\u2122<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following SmartTag\u2122 generates a button that customer's can use to sign up for a new account:<br><br><code>[MM_Social_Signup_Button provider='LinkedIn']<\/code><br><br><strong>Optional Attributes:<\/strong><br>membershipLevel &#8211; You can optionally use this attribute to override the default signup membership level defined above. It takes a membership level ID for free membership levels only. For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><code>[MM_Social_Signup_Button provider='LinkedIn' membershipLevel='2']<\/code><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:6px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Login Button SmartTag\u2122<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following SmartTag\u2122 generates a button that customer's can use to log into an existing account:<br><br><code>[MM_Social_Login_Button provider='LinkedIn']<\/code><br><br>NOTE: You can set the provider attribute to &#8216;all' to generate signup or login buttons for all active social login providers. So if you have Google and Facebook active, this single SmartTag\u2122 will generate a button for each.
