Save-the-Sale Core Page

The Save-the-Sale core page is where a user is directed when they have clicked on a cancellation link. Cancellation links are added to a member's My Account Core Page by default, and you can also create them using the CorePage_Link SmartTag.

Because you have complete control over the content that is displayed on a save-the-sale page, it provides you with a great opportunity to make a special offer to the member prior to them cancelling in hopes of retaining that customer.

You can even use Purchase_Link SmartTag to automate the downsell process.

There is one default save-the-sale core page already created with the MemberMouse installation, and you can optionally create additional save-the-sale pages specific to the member's membership level. This is useful if you want to have a save-the-sale process that's targeted to each membership level.

Changing the Layout of the Save-the-Sale Page

The Save-the-Sale page template is comprised of HTML and SmartTags™. The SmartTags™ provide all of the dynamic elements for the page. The HTML is used to specify the layout of the elements and as the HTML is present right within the WordPress editor, you can modify it any way you want. You can also rearrange or remove any SmartTags™ you do not want to use. They are not required.

Note: The Member_Link type='cancelMembership' SmartTag is what will allow the member to cancel their account, so if you remove it, make sure you provide instructions for what the member needs to do in order to cancel their account.

Save-the-Sale Page SmartTags

The Save-the-Sale page template includes recommended SmartTags™. The SmartTags™ provide all of the dynamic elements for the page. The HTML is used to specify the layout of the elements and as the HTML is present right within the WordPress editor, you can modify it any way you want.

You can rearrange or remove any SmartTags™ you don't want to use. They are not required and you can use most of MemberMouse's SmartTags™ on Save-the-Sale pages. Check out the SmartTag documentation to learn more about SmartTags™.

MemberMouse Save-The-Sale Page Template

For WordPress 5.0 and above:

The dropdown is no longer available to automatically enter templates into the editor.  We have created a Templates Folder in the Knowledge Base with the code for each core page.  You can copy and paste the code from the relevant template into a Custom HTML block in the new editor if you ever have the need to reset one of the MemberMouse Core Pages.

For WordPress 4.9 and below:

MemberMouse comes with a fully-functional Save-The-Sale template. To insert the Save-the-Sale template, from the Text tab in the WordPress editor, go the MM Templates dropdown above the WordPress content editor, select Save-the-Sale and click the ‘plus' icon.

The result of inserting the Save-the-Sale template is that MemberMouse will insert HTML, CSS and SmartTags™ into the content editor to produce a functional Save-the-Sale page that is completely customizable and comes with the Member_Link SmartTag which will allow the member to cancel their account if they decide to do so.
