Version 2.0.4 Release – Stripe, 1-Click Buy, Overdue Payment Handling

April 23, 2013

MemberMouse would like to announce that we have released version 2.0.4. This new release brings with it several new and exciting features. First and foremost, we’ve integrated with Stripe. This new payment gateway brings another card-on-file platform to MemberMouse, which means you can offer 1-click buy functionality to your customers when marketing additional products after the initial sale. Stripe is PCI-compliant, which means they store the credit card details of your customers in a secure fashion, which is a necessary requirement of a payment gateway if you wish to use MemberMouse’s 1-click buy functionality. If you’re not using 1-click buy functionality to sell additional products to your members, then you’re leaving money on the table. 1-click functionality is extremely effective, and is a major source of revenue for companies like Amazon.com and Apple. The 2.0.4 release upgrades this 1-click buy functionality and also improves overdue payment handling. We’re excited about this release and we’re happy to bring the highly anticipated Stripe integration to the MemberMouse platform. You can learn more about this release in our support center:

July 1, 2013

Enhancements include: Improved automated overdue payment handling functionality by attempting to rebill a member's card on file a total of 4 times and if the final attempt doesn't succeed, automatically cancelling their account. Enhanced the Import Wizard to detect if a member being importing is an existing WordPress user and if so, automatically migrate this user into MemberMouse as a member with the appropriate access rights. Added the ability to export members. Created a SmartTag that you can use to allow members to apply a free bundle to their account with a single click. Added checkout form configuration option that allows you to determine if you want to enable members to make purchases against their account when they're logged out. MemberMouse Version Version 2.0.7 Release – Custom Usernames, Group Functionality & bbPress Extensions

July 22, 2013

The team is excited to bring you another feature rich update. With the 2.0.7 release, along with numerous new features, comes two additional plugins that extend the functionality of MemberMouse. First, the Group Functionality plugin, which allows “seats” to be allocated to a group. This plugin is especially useful for consultants, agencies, and selling to organizations such as schools and higher education. The second extension plugin included in this release is the bbPress integration plugin. Using the bbPress extension you'll be able to protect bbPress forums based on a member's access rights in MemberMouse. In addition, this release brings a more secure style of purchase links that indicate which product or membership level to purchase by reference instead of directly which keeps customers from attempting to access other products you're offering just by modifying the URL. Captcha is now available on the checkout page. Customers can now specify a custom username name when checking out. You can now associate WordPress roles with membership levels. We've added the ability to configure which membership level should be applied to a customer's account when the first thing they purchase is a bundle. You can now disable products from being purchased. Customers can now checkout with ClickBank from a MemberMouse checkout page and users can specify a custom username via the createMember API call. We've also added a “Use Different Card” button to 1-click purchase confirmation dialogs so customers can optionally enter new card information. Plus various bug fixes. We know you'll benefit from these upgrades, so update your plugin today!

Version 2.0.8 Release – International Currency, Affiliate Enhancements, iDevAffiliate, Braintree & More. Did we mention International Currency?!

September 30, 2013

The MemberMouse team is excited to bring you a fantastic new release, version 2.0.8. This version brings more than a handful of powerful new features including major additions such as international currency support, and comprehensive enhancements to affiliate commission tracking capabilities. In addition, this release brings a Braintree payment method integration which supports 1-click buy functionality, automated overdue payment handling and over 130 international currencies. Plus PayPal improvements and a direct integration with iDevAffiliate! Let’s take a brief look at some of these exciting features…

One of the major enhancements in this release is international currency support. We’re thrilled to bring this long awaited feature to our friends abroad. Here’s how it works, if you set the currency to be United States Dollars then prices will be formatted as $10.00 and if you set the currency to be United Kingdom Pounds then prices will be formatted as £10.00. The currency you select must be supported by all payment methods you choose to use on your site. To learn more about international currency support, please read this article in the MemberMouse support center:
https://membermouse.com/docs/2-0-8-release-notes/

Next, we’ve made comprehensive improvements to our affiliate commission, tracking, and integration capabilities. At the core of our new affiliate functionality are commission profiles. Commission profiles allow you to define the rules that MemberMouse should follow when determining how to track commissions when a sale is made. For example, you can set in a commission profile whether commissions should be paid out on initial sales, if rebill commissions should be paid out, and if the number of rebill commissions should be limited to a certain number and more. You can use one commission profile across your entire catalog of products or associate commission profiles on a product-by-product basis so you have complete control over when commissions should be paid out for each product.

MemberMouse also offers an innovative feature called partner payouts. With standard affiliate tracking, the affiliate responsible for directly referring a customer to you will get a commission. Sometimes you may have a joint venture partnership where you've made a deal with one or more partners and the deal is that they will get a certain percentage of all sales of a particular product. With partner payouts you can easily set up these deals on a product-by-product basis so that commissions are automatically tracked for partners in addition to the standard affiliate responsible for a customer referral. Read this article to learn more about creating partner payouts:
https://membermouse.com/docs/managing-products/#product-options

Continuing our enhancement of our affiliate settings, we’re proud to offer a direct integration with iDevAffiliate. We chose to partner with iDevAffiliate because their affiliate tracking solution is very robust, and is priced appropriately for our entry level customers. This integration brings extremely powerful automation, such as the ability to precisely control commissions on rebills, cancel commissions on refunds, and the ability to automatically create affiliate accounts for new customers, effectively turning all of your customers into affiliates. To learn more about this special direct integration, please read this article in the support center:
https://membermouse.com/docs/affiliate-integration-overview/

And we’re not done yet. The MemberMouse team is also excited to bring introduce, “Smart Tag Equations.” SmartTag equations are used to allow for more complex decisions inside a MemberMouse SmartTag. In programmatic terms, SmartTags now support AND, OR and NOT expressions. In practical terms, for example, you can show or hide content if a member has purchased “bundles 3 or 4,” by writing the SmartTag opening tag like this: [MM_Member_Decision hasBundle='3|4']. And to show or hide content based on the opposite situation you just do this: [MM_Member_Decision hasBundle='!(3|4)']. Very powerful indeed! To learn more about this functionality, please read our support article on SmartTag equations:
https://membermouse.com/docs/smarttag-equations/

Enhancements have also been made to our PayPal integration that allow you to manage nearly everything from within MemberMouse. You can now issue refunds and cancel subscriptions from inside MemberMouse. Now both members and administrators will be able to manage subscriptions without having to go to PayPal. In order to get this to work you'll need to update your PayPal configuration in MemberMouse. This enhancement should streamline your PayPal workflow significantly, hip hip hooray!

Of course, there are a handful of other improvements we’ve made to the MemberMouse platform, and more exciting features are in development. You can read about the additional improvements and enhancements to this version in our support center: https://membermouse.com/docs/2-0-8-release-notes/

MemberMouse Version Version 2.0.9 Release – Duplicate Subscription Intelligence, Enhanced Logging and More!

October 23, 2013

We've added additional intelligence to the checkout process that will keep customers from being able to purchase the same subscription twice. This duplicate subscription protection can be turned on and off. In addition, we've added a duplicate subscription tool that allows you to see which customers have duplicate subscriptions. What used to be called the Event Log is now the Activity Log and now it can be accessed for individual members directly from the member details area. In addition to tracking a member's login and page access activity that was being tracked before, it now tracks emails that are sent out, complete access rights history including membership level and status changes, bundles being added and bundle status changes and complete payment-related events including when payments are received, refunds issued and credit card information updated. We've also added an activity log cleanup utility that will automatically delete events older than a certain number of days. In addition, we've made adjustments to the member details area to make things more efficient and intuitive. Plus several additional enhancements and big fixes.
