Australia Wildfire Relief. We are all One.
January 8, 2020
A message from Eric Turnnessen, Founder/CEO, MemberMouse:
“I‘m extremely moved by the situation happening in Australia. We truly are a global family and our brothers, sisters, parents, elders and animal family need our help. The message that is clear to me is that there are plenty of resources in the world for everyone, it’s simply about distributing them to places of need when indicated. I hope and pray that this decade sees more of us acting collectively in little ways to create major change. The collective is strong when acting together from the heart.
On behalf of MemberMouse, the people who work for the company and the customers who use the product, we are committed to donating 10% of our profits over the next 3 months to organizations in Australia working to address the situation. For the month of January, we have chosen to donate to the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) whose Disaster and Recovery Relief Fund helps provide for the rebuilding needs of communities in the months and years to come. In February, we will contribute to the NSW Rural Fire Service. In March, the donation will go to WIRES (NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue, and Education Service), whose focus for the past 30 years has been on rescuing, caring for and rehabilitating injured wildlife. (In recognition of the urgency of the situation we’ve made our January donation immediately based on projected profits for the month.)
As businesses, I believe that part of our responsibility is to give back. If we’re successful at what we do, we attract a vast amount of resources from a large group of people who are interested in what we’re offering. Part of these resources rightfully goes to us as individuals for the work we do. Part of it rightfully goes back into our companies to support their growth and maintenance. Part of it rightfully belongs back in the world in order to support the health and prosperity of what ultimately supports everything: people and the planet. This simple act demonstrates an awareness of the true nature of how things work. A farmer who harvests fruit without replanting seeds ends up hungry.”
